What this race needs is more COWBELL and PRB! |
The Big Ring Rumpus is not really a mountain bike race, but more of a dirt crit. The race basically consists of a fire road loop with pretty much no climbing; four miles per lap. Novice raced 4 laps, Sport raced 6 laps, expert and elite raced 7 laps. For someone who really enjoys technical mountain bike racing with roots, rocks, hills and descents will find this race absolutely boring...

Team management at its BEST! |
|
Clark Brothers Racing base camp. |
Kyle and I decided that we would skip this race to work on our team management skills and support the rest of the CBR team for the day. This consisted of setting up the CBR base camp, obnoxiously ringing cowbells and drinking
PBRs while everyone killed themselves, ah, I mean raced around a dirt road for multiple laps. I thought we did a good job, but the rest of the team thinks we are better racers than team managers (ah, what do they know).

Is that poison ivy they are sitting in? |
Congratulations to all the CBR racers that participated in the Big Ring Rumpus. You couldn't ask for better weather, the course was dry and everyone did great!! Even cycle cross
GRANNY until she ran into a car going through the finish shute! Holy SCHNIKES who parks their car in front of the finish shute?!
